Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. is a Chinese multinational technology company. It designs, develops, and sells telecommunications equipment and consumer electronics. The company was founded in 1987 by Ren Zhengfei, a former Deputy Regimental Chief in the People's Liberation Army. In July 2020, Huawei surpassed Apple and Samsung and become the top smartphone brand (in number of phones shipped) in the world for the first time. In 2016, Huawei entered the laptop markets with the release of the Huawei MateBook series of laptops. Huawei continued to release laptop models in this series at 2020 with their most recent models the MateBook X Pro and Matebook 13 2020.
